To adjust the full flush volume, raise/lower the full flush adjustment; the lower the slide is set, the higher the flush volume will be. Note: The flushing valve is preset to flush 6 litres (nominal) minimum volume, when the slide is in the lowest position. That's about it. Reassemble and feel virtuous that you have saved a plumber's call out charge to do the same thing! Thanks to everyone on this. WD40 squirted down the cable sheath worked for me too. A bit of advice from me too. Don't take any wooden top or decor lid off the cistern set up like I did! This can all be done from the front. If I had to do it again I would: When I came to take off the Macdee AFV40100 flush valve (which I thought separated at the top not the bottom, took me a while to figure that out!) I noticed some sealant had been applied near the bottom of the valve casing.

My upstairs lavatory is continually flushing. It's a dual flush cable operated one with (according to the bathroom installer's invoice of two years ago) a Macdee Kayla flush unit. I understand that to remove the siphon and clean the sealing washer, I have to turn it an eighth of a turn and lift. My first picture shows that I have no visual access to the siphon and am going entirely by feel. This guide has been sourced directly from Derwent Macdee / Wirquin and is only applicable to Macdee Kayla DVA0100, AFV50100, AFV50200, AFV40100 and AFV40200 models. I've enclosed shots of the cistern and the "plunger" part attached to the lid via the blue tube and was wondering if you kind folks wouldn't mind taking a stab at what the problem might be and how to solve it. I've heard this could be something to do with the tube or a washer somewhere on the assembly, but I've no idea reallyMaybe this bit was overkill but I also disconnected the cable on both ends and cleaned the visible parts - the was some gunk and, after taking the spray diffuser off the WD40 can I forced a whole load of WD40 down inside the cable sheath - again pulling the cable a couple of dozen times to move the WD40 around.) I would like to have got down into the bottom assembly and taken it all apart but I couldn't work out how to do it but that would be a plan B for anyone who still can't get the thing to work with WD40. The Kayla cable operated dual flush valve is our best selling flush valve from Derwent Macdee. The valve is suitable for retrofit and new installations and high traffic areas. Then rather awkwardly get some WD40 down the sheath. Hold the sheath up to allow it to flow downwards to the bottom. Tease the cable in and out a few times just an inch or so to help release the ceased mechansim. The valve comes complete with a button. The cable on the valve is 400mm excluding the mechanism that attaches to the button. The base sealing washers that come with the valve allow it to be used with both 2" (50mm) an 1 1/2" (40mm) outlets.

I cleaned the guide rails with some tissue and smoothed them down so any limscale residue and gunk was gone. I then sprayed a load of WD40 onto the guide rails and the pully mechanism and then pulled on the cable repeatidly to get the WD40 to move around and do its buisness. The valve is commonly used as an equivalent replacement for the discontinued Derwent Macdee Pacific flush valve.
