That's most of the usable vocal stuff the VE-8 does, and the Harmony Singer 2 is a heck of a lot cheaper. It's solid, it gives you a good sound and if dosed/tweaked well and not overused, the effects can add the right colour to your performance.

All said, the plain old set it and forget settings work very well and do stay 'as is' between turning the unit off and the next sessions. I wouldn't use the looper function live, but it could be a useful addition for some, it works well - but you don't get an 'undo' function and, for me, the footswitch is less positive than the one on my Ditto looper, so punching in on the beat takes some practice. I was hoping maybe a more experienced player who has used the VE-8 might chime in with their experience and overall opinion. It’s hard to argue with a pedal that makes it easy to get a great tone no matter what you’re playing.

You can easily throw on reverb, “enhance” (which seems to essentially be compression), and basic vocal correction, which aren’t a bad suite of tools, but if you want to go any further, you have to dig into the advanced settings, which is a huge hassle given the physical knobs and tiny little screen on the VE-8. Due to covid, no gigs, etc decided to occupy myself with something and VE8 was the thing to turn to :-) .

The VE-8’s rear panel has a guitar input and XLR mic input with switchable phantom power, plus an Aux input to connect a smartphone or other device for backing music. It also looks like you cannot toggle the guitar effects with the foot pedals but just have to set it and forget it kinda thing. Somehow when I use the pedal with the power supply in my house I hear a ground loop hum but the notch filter cancel that noise. It is a very good unit, I think overall its a better package than the Play Acoustic, whicih is very good in its own right. As well as being able to use loops, the VE-8 also gives you the ability to produce natural vocal harmonies for added performance value. Now the Ditto ain't no Chewie II Monsta either, but it's more capable and easier to use than the VE-8's, at least according to most loopers who have commented here in the past.

This was also the only pedal that would occasionally have me verbalizing my excitement over some of the sounds I could get out of it… The only features I wish it had from the other pedals are the VE-8’s “acoustic resonance” and guitar delay, and the longer looping time offered by the other pedals. Simple to use, the VE-8 provides studio-quality voice and guitar processing plus impressive real-time harmonies and looping in one compact, go-everywhere package. If this aligns with what you’re looking for, perhaps my experience with these pedals will be of use to you. The looper on the CVE-8 is anemic (only 80 seconds), which means you can't record a whole song with a chorus and chord changes.

Separately, there are ways to separate the vocal and guitar signals into the Left and Right outputs, as shown starting around page 4 of my pdf manual, but I don't know if you require that. However, it might take a bit of getting used to for someone who enjoys completely changing their sound characteristics mid set.

I agree with runnng the Boss after the Aura gives the guitar tone definitely a 'fuller' tone, it just sound big and fat and nice. If you’re serious about looping, I’d recommend getting a more powerful pedal that focuses on looping. The automatic harmony function detects the chords and key you play with your guitar, and then generates the correct harmony as you sing. In my opinion, the TC-Helicon Play Acoustic is, hands down, the best overall performer of these pedals. So a glitch here and there, and as EA mentioned, serious loopers won't go for the '2 presses to stop looping' function. With the Boss VE-8’s grab-and-go panel controls, it’s simple to dial in sounds and settings as you play.
