We are pulsating beings in a vibrating universe, in constant moti between the finite and the infinite. His theories are interesting and some of them seem plausible. Some of the most interesting theories that I found from the book include A Cosmic Book on the Mechanics of Creation with Mirtala Bentov, Dutton Books, 1982, ISBN 0-525-47701-2 This recent period of quantitative physical science has been extremely important to humankind’s development since it has forged a clearly discernible, albeit materialistic, path through the uncharted terrain of Nature’s expression. It has taught us how to perform meaningful, reproducible experiments and to build and test relevant theories about Nature. However, we have presently become so focused on this one path that we have lost the flexibility of sensing all the other possible paths of knowledge available to us in the wonderland of Nature.

The universe is a giant hologram and all knowledge is available to us if we are able to tap into it. If you fancy the topic of consciousness, do not be put off by the seeming complexity hiding in the book's title. In most chapters, the Czechoslovak-born author did an excellent job translating the abstract into the concrete, aptly squeezing new ideas into a juice of information even a 9th grader would be able to consume. A brilliantly executed theoretical romp through the universe. . . to do all this with humor and suspense is indeed a major accomplishment." Overall an engaging read, and it baffles me that i didn't come across this work much sooner, since i've been looking into this topic for many years already at this point. The physical universe is entirely composed of consciousness and all living and non-living beings contain consciousness (it is just a matter of what degree).

A ground-breaking work. Clear, imaginative, and inspiring, it offers a revolutionary image of the human mind and universe.” A paraphysical odyssey....Dazzles the imagination and causes you to rethink everything you ever thought you knew about the nature of reality.... A landmark in man’s new attempts to integrate realities within and without.” Itzhak Bentov does an absolutely brilliant performance in this book, and whether you are a physicist or a stoner, an atheist, christian, hindu or else, this should be required reading for anybody who wants to understand his/her place in the universe, why we are here, and what else there possibly could be. Ben is an intuitive inventor without much formal education who likes to tinker about in his versatile basement laboratory seeking simple and practical solutions to complex technological problems. Presently, he spends most of his time developing a variety of medical instruments. This is how he makes his living, and he is sufficiently good at it to be in great demand by modern, specialized industries that desperately need his special brand of creativity. a b "Medical devices and disruptive technology: Boston Scientific". MaRS Discovery District. February 8, 2013. Archived from the original on January 20, 2015 . Retrieved January 17, 2015.There have been some small beginnings made toward a new self image for humankind, one that emphasizes the human wholeness and connectivity with everything around it. Everything seems to interact with everything else at many subtle levels of the universe beyond the purely physical level, and the deeper we penetrate into these other levels, the more do we realize that we are One. A brilliantly executed theoretical romp through the universe....To do all this with humor and suspense is indeed a major accomplishment.” I am attempting in this book to build a model of the universe that will satisfy the need for a comprehensive picture of what our existence is all about In other words, a holistic model that encompasses not only the physical, observable universe that is our immediate environment and the distant universe observed by our astronomers but also other realities as well. Normally, we do not consider the emotional, mental, and intuitive components of our beings as realities. I will try to persuade you that they are. The phenomena that we call unexplained, like psychokineses (the moving of an object with the power of the mind), telepathy, out-of-body phenomena, clairvoyance, etc., can all be explained once we know the general underlying principles governing them. Turns out, the two are not incompatible at all, but simply require that one expands his mind to form a new theory that encompasses all of these different findings. I'm about half-way or more though this book. I just put that I've read it so I could leave a review. I thought several of the underlying points in this book were illogical conclusions. And most of the rest of it I just don't buy. It's not because I'm a physicalist or scientistic (I'm not), as this is a very spiritual book, just his strange take on things.

Much of this information has come through intuitive insight, which is no justification, of course, for omitting a rational support for this material. When we come to the description of the shape of the universe and the process of its creation, however, a rational support becomes tenuous since we are dealing with material that cannot be fully supported yet by scientific facts. Here the principal guide for judging the material presented is one’s intuition or subjective experience. Itzhak " Ben" Bentov (also Ben-Tov; Hebrew: יצחק בנטוב; August 9, 1923 – May 25, 1979) was an Israeli American scientist, inventor, mystic and author. His many inventions, including the steerable cardiac catheter, helped pioneer the biomedical engineering industry. [1] He was also an early proponent of what has come to be referred to as consciousness studies and authored several books on the subject. If you leaf through this book, you will see a lot of diagrams, and you may have the impression that this is a technical or even a scientific book. Well, don’t worry about that. I myself am a fairly stupid fellow who could not learn any mathematics at all. In fact, my brush with academia was a rather short one: I was expelled from the kindergarten at the age of four for some alleged subversive activities and have never managed to resume normal studies since, not to mention graduating from anyplace. So my mind has remained blank and unspoiled by higher learning. Bentov was the holder of numerous patents. In addition to the steerable cardiac catheter, his inventions included diet spaghetti, automobile brake shoes, EKG electrodes and pacemaker leads. [2] Patents [ edit ] Filing dateItzhak Bentov weaves together diverse subjects including, physics, cosmology, subtle energy, and spirituality to deliver a groundbreaking book that has become a reference for all those who seek to understand the self and the universe.

Aside from the horrible illustrations, the author assumes a lot and makes it sound like fact, when there is very little factual conclusions, but a lot of assumption mixed with religious ideas. Not science, but fringe. A beginner might be able to gather some facts, but would have to a lot of research to separate the nonsense. Read more This book takes a great step forward by simply articulating that fact—thus contributing to the understanding of our future development.

What the author lays out is perfectly congruent with all the other material known to me on this topic - Too many different authors and theorems to list them all here without breaching the scope of this book alone, but they're all talking about the same basic conception while merely giving it different names. Those who have also studied this particular and closely associated topics in-depth over the years will probably be able to guess which other theoretical frameworks i'm refering to here precisely. a b Monagan, David; Williams, MD., David O.
